About Charles Wookey
Charles is a highly experienced accompanier of business leaders and one of the pathfinders of purpose-led approaches to business.
As CEO of the charity A Blueprint for Better Business he has worked with CEOs and leadership teams from major UK companies, as well as speaking and writing extensively on the learning he gained.

Charles has also become a regular external contributor to Executive MBA programmes at various business schools, including IESE in Barcelona, Said Business school in Oxford, IEA in Buenos Aires and Fordham Business School in New York.
He was a co-founder of A Blueprint for Better Business, a UK charity founded after the financial crisis to help create a better society through better business, and one of the architects of Blueprint’s core thinking.
This combines insights from wisdom traditions and empirical sciences to challenge dominant ideas about both purpose and people.
He is inspired by the potential for people and planet when a business genuinely commits to a shared purpose beyond profit, and puts the good of people at the heart of business success, so the business sees itself as a social organisation respecting human dignity and contributing to the wider common good.
After studying physics, philosophy and theology at Oxford University Charles qualified as a chartered accountant with KPMG and gained multi sector experience including working as a Clerk at the House of Commons (where he was Clerk to the Trade and Industry Select Committee) , a senior research officer at the Institute for Fiscal Studies, and a principal adviser to three Catholic Cardinals.
Charles remains a trustee of A Blueprint for Better Business and continues to support its work.
He is the father of four adult children and a keen amateur pianist and organist.
